When do the Paris Olympics start and end?

First things first: competition starts on Wednesday, July 24 and ends on Sunday, August 11.

You might be thinking to yourself, “Hold up! That seems a little long — aren’t the Olympics around two weeks long?”

You aren’t wrong. There are 16 days of competition betweenthe Opening Ceremony on Friday, July 26 and Closing Ceremony on Sunday, August 11. However, the Olympic schedule is so jam-packed that some sports (soccer, rugby) hold preliminary competitions a day or two prior to the Opening Ceremony, on July 24 and July 25.

How to watch the 2024 Paris Olympics on TV

Who is hosting NBC's coverage during the 2024 Paris Olympics?

The talent roster for NBCUniversal's Olympics coverage is packed with over 150 names that include notable NBC commentators, Olympians and some of your favorite celebrities, who will make appearances across all of NBCUniversal's platforms, including NBC, Peacock, USA Network, CNBC, E!, GOLF Channel, Telemundo, Universo and all of NBC Olympics' digital platforms.

Sunday Night Football commentator Mike Tirico is back for his fifth Olympics, hosting the primetime show and both the Opening and Closing Ceremonies. At the Opening Ceremony, Tirico will be joined by singer and TV personality Kelly Clarkson, football great Peyton Manning and TODAY Show hosts Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb. Gold Zone, a new, all-inclusive program hosted by NFL RedZone's Scott Hanson, will stream live on Peacock from 7a - 5p ET every day of the 2024 Paris Olympics starting on Saturday, July 27.
